ABOUT PHILLIPSBURG NJ
Located at the very edge of NJ, in Warren County a good portion of this charming downtown is in a NJ Opportunity Zone. A slow but sure renaissance is happening along s. Main Street. A new South Main Street Alliance is helping to attract new small businesses, and helps manage some grants to help move the downtown economy and experience along, with business help, facade grants, and more. Just off the 78 corridor, this handy ‘Stateliner’ location is the gateway to the Lehigh Valley. Seasonal theme train-rides and Delaware river tubing are popular attractions here. Despite trying times – there are cool craft breweries, bakeries, locally-owned eateries, a tea shop, great bike and skate shops, and unique boutiques. Small businesses persist as new ones are sprouting up. Greenwich, Alpha, Washington, Lopatcong, and Pohatcong are surrounding townships on this former Lenape site where rivers and trains converge. Phillipsburg is a quaint up-and-comer – the town has plans to take much greater advantage of the scenic riverfronts here.
